Great beginning. First the new Sarah Jane Adventures and now this on the same day? A bang up day for the Doctor and friends all around. :-)
I've never played WoW so I'm especially hooked into the mystery of where this is going. It has a very modern feel, but also reminds me atmospherically of several of Tom Baker's more fantasy oriented serials ("Androids of Tara" and "State of Decay" both spring to mind). I've seen very few well executed crossovers (though to be fair I don't seek them out because the ones I've encountered have not been promising), however this one is what a crossover should be.
You nailed 10s characterization as far as I'm concerned (and I think that's no easy feat to get right).
